MITRE ATLAS

A knowledge base classifying attack tactics and techniques against AI systems; the extension of MITRE ATT&CK logic to AI (ATLAS: Adversarial Threat Landscape for Artificial-Intelligence Systems). It is used in Generative AI Red Team reporting to frame abuse-path steps. Its value is in setting a common language, which is especially critical in a new and fast-changing threat area. Since AI security does not yet have an established vocabulary, a finding can easily stay 'an interesting problem we don't know what to do with'. Naming an attack step with an ATLAS technique places that finding on a documented map the defense team recognizes, with countermeasures already discussed; the abuse path thus stops being a narrative and becomes an actionable reference. What ATT&CK is for traditional systems, ATLAS is for AI systems, and the two are often used together in reporting.
